TORONTO STOCKS OPEN HIGHER ON MINERS' STRENGTH; US CPI DATA IN FOCUS

August 12 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Wednesday, lifted by mining and technology shares, while an in-line U.S. inflation reading kept investors leaning toward a Federal Reserve rate hold in September.

The S&P/TSX Composite Index was up 0.2% at 36,560.52 points at 9:33 a.m. ET.
