European Union countries on Tuesday approved a disbursement of €1.8 billion ($2.1 billion) for war-torn Ukraine under the bloc's long-term financial aid programme.
The funding is aimed at allowing Kiev to continue operating its public administration.
The disbursement is part of a €50 billion aid package of loans and grants for the years 2024 until 2027.
Payments from the fund are tied to reforms which are aligned with Ukraine's long-term goal to join the European Union and focus on the recovery, reconstruction and modernization of the country.
